Annual Conference on Cultural Diplomacy in the UN

"Utilizing Cultural Diplomacy to Foster Democracy, Global Security, Business and Trade"

(New York City; November 27th - 30th, 2018)

Conference Overview

In the last decade, the world has witnessed new forms of violence and economic failures that are currently emerging and are causing severe global migration and poverty in almost all parts of the globe. These phenomena are crossing continents, diverse religious groups, different cultures and no communities are immune from these disasters.  The outcome for society is alarming as these issues are often so powerful that they weaken governments and institutions and are putting the global order and rule of law into sometimes complete disarray.

Today therefore, many institutions and individuals are expecting the United Nations to lead with constructive solutions for this growing international instability and these pressing challenges. The United Nations has operated successfully in previous decades during challenges of similar magnitude and also managed to bring solutions for other conflicts between religions and cultural conflicts around the world.

Conference Agenda

The Academy for Cultural Diplomacy will dedicate the Annual Conference on Cultural Diplomacy in the UN 2018 to build on the past experience of the UN in order to formulate new cultural diplomacy initiatives, which can foster democracy, global security, business and trade, while simultaneously encouraging cooperation between diverse communities based upon values of peace, democracy, human rights and the rule of law.
